Meet the Host
Hi, I’m Dr. Lindsay
I’m a Clinical Psychologist who loves turning core psychology principles into actionable parenting tips designed to make your days simpler and your family life happier. I developed my 5 C’s parenting framework to identify the core features of amazing parents and to categorize all of my psychology-based parenting tips.
You can rest assured that your parenting tips come from a knowledgeable source. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University with the G. Stanley Hall Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Undergraduate Psychology and from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and the Samuel M. Turner Scientist-Practitioner Award. Plus, I am a licensed psychologist in the state of California.
I wanted more than anything to be a stay-at-home mom to my four children through when the youngest started elementary school, and I absolutely loved that experience. After that, I returned to psychology and founded Parenting With Psychology to help other parents learn to use the psychology-based parenting tools that I have found invaluable throughout my parenting experience. So trust me, I understand what you’re going through, whether you’re a working mom or full-time with the kids.
I know your days are busy, so I’ve created a concise podcast introducing a new parenting tool each week to help stock your parenting toolbox. Each episode will leave you with a clear goal to work toward as you learn to utilize these tools in your parenting practice. When I’m not coaching parents, I spend time with my husband and four children in our hometown of Santa Barbara, CA. We enjoy swimming and hot-tubbing, splashing around in local creeks, having fun in the sun at the beach, bowling, and hitting the ball around the court in the rarely-seen 3 on 3 tennis match. When I sneak away for some self-care, I’m usually practicing arm balances at the local CorePower Yoga studio or hosting a ladies’ night for my amazing mom friends.
